Delicious Delights: Caprese Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms Recipe

Fixing:

4 giant portobello mushrooms

2 medium tomatoes, finely chopped

1 cup new mozzarella cheddar, shredded

½ cup young basil leaves

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

2 tbsp olive oil

Salt and pepper as per taste

Guidance:

1. Preheat your stove to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Gently clean the portobello mushrooms with a damp cloth or paper towel to remove any soil. Remove the stem and use a spoon to scoop out the gills, leaving a gap for the filling. Place the mushrooms on the pre-arranged baking sheet, with the empty side facing up.

3. In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil. Add salt and pepper as per taste.

4. Brush the inside of each portobello mushroom with the balsamic vinegar combination previously arranged, making sure to coat all sides.

5. Place a layer of chopped tomatoes inside each mushroom, placing young basil leaves behind them.

6. Add new mozzarella cheddar pieces over the tomatoes and basil, spreading it evenly among the mushrooms.

7. Drizzle the remaining balsamic vinegar mixture over the stuffed mushrooms for added flavor.

8. Place the baking sheet in the preheated broiler and heat for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are soft and the cheddar is melted and lightly browned.

9. Once cooked, remove the stuffed mushrooms from the stove and let them cool for a while before serving.

10. Garnish the stuffed mushrooms with additional new basil leaves and a sprinkle of balsamic coating, whenever needed, for an added burst of flavor and visual appeal.

11. Caprese Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms Serve warm as a delicious canapé or accompany a fresh plate of mixed greens for a delightful first course.

Tips:

For best results choose portobello mushrooms that are firm and evenly shaded with tightly closed caps.

Go ahead and vary the filling by adding ingredients like sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts, or olives for extra flavor and surface.

If you don't have fresh mozzarella cheddar, you can replace it with shredded mozzarella or another type of cheddar of your choice.

Try not to overcook the mushrooms so they don't become oversaturated. Take care of them while cooking to achieve the ideal surface.

Serve the stuffed mushrooms immediately for best taste and surface.
